How I work

My counselling model

I am primarily a Person Centred counsellor but I am happy to integrate other models and approaches wherever appropriate, such as Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Psychodynamic insights. But whatever model or course of action is taken the ethos of my work is always about ‘Aiding Self Actualisation’.

Self-actualisation is a term coined by psychologist Abraham Maslow to describe the ongoing process of fully developing your personal potential. An important thing to note about self-actualisation is that it is a process not a goal. In other words, self-actualisation is not something that you aim for but something that you do.  It is achievable by all.

I have worked with a broad spectrum of client issues including dealing with grief and loss, relational issues, marital break-up, sexuality, self worth and low self-confidence, anger, depression, panic attacks etc. (See a fuller list to the right of this page.)

Life coaching and mentoring

From time to time in life we have to work through issues some of which include relationships (single or marital), parenting, work and careers. It can be very helpful to have someone we can trust who is able to help us reflect objectively, and in an unbiased way, on these concerns.

Furthermore, while we may not be able to change every situation in life, never the less, there is a great deal we can if we choose too.

So why not give me a call to see how I can help you... 'end your struggle and start to enjoy your life'.?

This could be your time!

Where and when

If coming out to me is difficult, I would be happy to consider coming to you. We can meet either during the day or in the evening whatever is best for you (but if I do come to you I do need to add a travel time costing).
